Melbourne: First touch

Wherever i go my friends, my blog is always my house and my diary. Maybe i was away for a while, but i always kept in my mind what to write next. This month of my absence was because of i changed location. And i'm referring to a big change: I left Greece (don't ask me for how long) in order to live in Australia. As a risky girl, i couldn't resist to the challenge! But that's enough with me, let me tell u about Melbourne...

Melbourne is a big city with around 3 million people. Combines perfectly skykeepers with a lot of green. Despite the fact that its history is recent, the architecture is impressive. Yarra river is the hot spot. Regarding the weather, u will never get bored as we experience all the 4 seasons in one day. So keep always in your bag a sunscreen and an umbrella!

Fashion is a big part of Aussies' culture. Refering to Aussies, i mean including the immigrants, who consist the main factor of tasteful outfits in Melbourne. It is known that Australia is a multi culti combination and that is obvious if u have a look at people's clothes. Australians do not pay so much attention to clothes. Their national shoes is flip-flops, that they wear them during all the year. Immigrants from India and Middle East keep their traditional clothes, which is very interesting. Europeans and Australian who have travelled a lot have a more vintage or hipster look. In my opinion, the best dressed are the Asians ( Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, Phillipines) not only because they are so tiny that they shop from kidswear, but also because the have excellent taste of street fashion.

The most known shops are Myer and David Jones, which has many floors full of high fashion, pret a porter, cosmetics and gadgets. Recently European fashion has arrived to Melbourne, such as Zara and Topshop, r having each only one store and more of them r coming soon. Of course at Collins Str., in City, in Chapel str and in Chadstone Mall u can find high fashion boutiques such as Gucci, Channel, Jimmy Choo etc. Local designers r very inspired too and they have remarkable pieces to show.
